IN MEMORIAM Prof Dr Đorđe Paunović
Dragi profesore, hvala Vam odavde do večnosti.
IN MEMORIAM Prof Dr Đorđe Paunović
Professor Djordje Paunovic passed away on August 3, 2021 in Belgrade.
His name means a lot to all former students of the Belgrade ETF, means an assistant always ready for cooperation and understanding of students, means a professor who brings the latest technological things as normal and everyday, means dean, vice-rector and acting rector of Belgrade University. For younger colleagues at the faculty, he was a support, an advisor, their courage and full support. Every retired employee received his words of respect and gratitude designed with deep understanding and knowledge of personality and uttered emotionally and with dignity.
He was the promoter of the latest technological inventions, the initiator and organizer of everything advanced and stimulating in the world of radio engineering, mobile communications and modern events. His name means TELFOR (TELecommunication FORum), an international conference that has been held in Belgrade for 28 years. He was the living spirit of that conference, which brings together all those people who deal with telecommunications in the world in various ways: scientists, young researchers, managers in telecommunications companies, businessmen, cultural workers who use communication resources, radio and television representatives, politicians and lawyers. The establishment of the “Blažo Mirčevski” Award is also the result of his decision.
He is embedded in all of us, his views always in advance, his opinions, analyzes, decisions, his spoken words, his ethics and aesthetics. His tweed jacket remains in the amphitheaters and corridors of the ETF as a symbol of timeless and extraterrestrial elegance.
He gave a lot and remained modest. There is no right way to give thanks for so much done. At the same time, a great question remains: aren’t we able to do something more for him?
Dear Professor, thank you from here to eternity.
Sorry we couldn’t follow you in the full range of your aspirations.
