After that, she finished the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade, high school specialized for students talented in mathematics, physics, and computer science, and she was recipient of the “Vuk Karadžić” award. During her elementary and high education, she was very active in mathematics and physics contests. Her greatest success was at mathematic contest, 1998th, when she won silver medal at Second Junior Balkan Olympiad, at Athens, Greece. Marija Malnar was student of the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, from 2002 where she graduated from the department of Telecommunications in 2007.
Since October 2007, Marija Malnar has been a Ph.D student at the Department of Communications of the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade. Her Ph.D. research activities are focused on routing in wireless mesh networks and propagation in indoor environments. During the studies, she published one paper in the prestigious international journal Wireless Networks, and presented 9 papers at conferences. In 2011, she was a recipient of the “Blažo Mirčevski” Young Author Best Paper Award for the paper “Comparative analysis of hop counting, ETX, ETT and MIC metrics in real propagation environment of single channel mesh network”, presented at the 18th Telecommunications forum TELFOR 2010 in Belgrade.
Since March 2008, she has been employed as a teaching assistant at Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, University of Belgrade at department for Telecommunication traffic and networks.
